Earlier this year, Anker implemented a series of enhanced quality assurance protocols designed to detect manufacturing issues earlier in the production cycle. These safeguards—including expanded component-level audits and supplier testing—helped us identify a potential issue with common, lithium-ion battery cells from a single vendor.
While the likelihood of malfunction is considered minimal, out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to initiate a voluntary global recall of several Anker power bank models. We have formally notified and are coordinating with regulatory authorities in all regions to ensure the recall is conducted in compliance with all applicable local guidelines.
We urge all customers with an Anker Power Bank (10,000mAh, 22.5W) (Model: A1257) to check if their unit is included in this recall by following the steps below.
Check the product information on the bottom of the device to confirm it reads: “Anker Power Bank (10,000mAh, 22.5W)” with model number "A1257." See images below:
Pay attention to the letters and numbers in the serial number: "1", "L", "I", "2" and "Z". Please note that characters such as "0 (zero)" and "O" (o) may be entered incorrectly. Regarding the serial number of the target product, "O" and "I" are not used.
To receive a replacement power bank, gift voucher, or refund (as per your respective country’s regulations), please follow the steps below. Our local team will guide you through the process based on the options available in your country:
(1) your name and contact information,
(2) Invoice number,
(3) two photos of the recalled portable charger: one photo showing the model number and serial number (SN), which are printed on the bottom of the device; another photo of the recalled portable charger with the submission date and the word “recall” or “recalled” written on it in permanent marker. Do not throw this recalled lithium-ion battery in the trash, in the general recycling stream (e.g., street-level or curbside recycling bins), or in used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores. Recalled lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of differently than other batteries, because they present a greater risk of fire.
Affected customers will have their power banks collected and disposed of centrally, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
